PUBLIC BUILDINGS HOUSING DWELLING HOUSES CONCEPTS
Bauhaus Museum Dessau
Competition Entry
Exhibition areas have no windows, they will be naturally lit by “daylight traps” shining through the building roof and the skylights installed in the floor slabs and ceilings between 3rd floor and 2nd floor. This will protect the exhibits from the harmful effects of direct sunrays, though bringing the floating daylight into the museum, which will ensure the best perception of exhibitions and save power consumed by artificial lighting.
The southern façade is equipped by a system of photoelectric solar elements to save power needed for nighttime lighting of the building and the surrounding park space.
